1. Stages of the Exam:
The NTPC exam is conducted in multiple stages:

Sections: General Awareness, Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning.
Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwD candidates).
Number of questions: 100.
Stage 2: Computer-Based Test (CBT 2)
This is specific to the post you have applied for.
Objective-type questions.
Sections: Same as CBT 1 but with a higher difficulty level.
Duration: 90 minutes.
Number of questions: 120.
Typing Skill Test (TST) / Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT):
The TST is for posts like Junior Accounts Assistant and Senior Clerk.
CBAT is for posts like Traffic Assistant and Station Master.
Document Verification & Medical Examination:
After clearing the above stages, candidates have to go through document verification and a medical fitness test.
2. Exam Pattern:
CBT 1:
Mathematics: 30 questions.
General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 questions.
General Awareness: 40 questions.
Total Marks: 100.
Negative marking: 1/3rd marks deducted for every wrong answer.
CBT 2:
Mathematics: 35 questions.
General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35 questions.
General Awareness: 50 questions.
Total Marks: 120.
Negative marking: 1/3rd marks deducted for every wrong answer.
3. Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum educational qualification: 12th pass or graduate (depending on the post).
Age limit: 18 to 30 years (age relaxation for reserved categories as per government rules).
4. Application Process:
Applications are submitted online through the official RRB websites.
Candidates need to select the post they are interested in applying for.
The selection is merit-based, and candidates are ranked based on their performance in all stages of the exam.
